Academics
Faculty excellence: Study with professors who are active researchers. All of our faculty have earned the highest degrees in their fields. Over the years, nine have received Ohio State’s prestigious Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching.
Research opportunities: Engage in research, which spans many degree programs such as English, history, psychology, earth sciences and biology. Outstanding projects are recognized at the Denman Undergraduate Research Forum on the Columbus campus.
Internships: Get hands-on experience with the local business community through our Business and Industry Internship Program. Employers involve interns in day-to-day operations and evaluate them as potential employees.
Education abroad: Learn through global experiences such as our Haiti Empowerment Project, Greece and Costa Rica study abroad classes, or any of Ohio State’s 200 study abroad programs in over 50 countries.
Academic support: Maximize academic performance through individualized skill development and free math and writing support at the Conard Learning Center. Additional resources include retention services, disability services, counseling services and SMART Learning Communities for first-year, first-generation students.
Student life
First Year Experience: Start your college career on the right track! FYE programs— like the Camp Hetuck leadership program—are designed just for students making the transition to college.
Student organizations: Find plenty of ways to build leadership skills in clubs such as Campus Activities Board and student government. Clubs for majors as well as social, civic, religious and veterans groups also meet on a regular basis.
Campus Recreation Center: Participate in intercollegiate sports in the Ohio Regional Campus Conference, intramurals, and fitness and wellness classes, and make use of the weight room, exercise machines and miles of walking paths on campus.
The arts abound: Enjoy theatre productions in Founders Auditorium as well as gallery exhibits in the Pearl Conard Art Gallery.
