International first-year applicants

Ohio State is a diverse, international community with nearly 6,000 international students from over 100 countries. Our urban campus is located in Columbus, the capital of Ohio and the 14th largest city in the United States. Read 10 reasons why Ohio State is a great choice for international students.

You are an international first-year applicant if you:

  • are (or will soon be) a secondary school graduate
  • have never enrolled at a college or university (don't count college classes taken in high school)
  • are not a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or person who has been granted asylum
