Residence halls

Build your own nest

The vast majority of first- and second-year students live on campus, taking advantage of easy access to classrooms and campus activities. Ohio State's residence halls offer a variety of room styles and living arrangements. We take great care in housing placements, then take great care in making sure every resident is set up for success.

The highest quality residential experience

Ohio State’s residence halls are inclusive spaces that welcome and respect the dignity and uniqueness of all. Under the direction of resident advisors and full-time professional hall directors, residents enjoy social activities and academic support in a safe and comfortable environment.

Living-learning communities

If you’d like to start in a community with a more in-depth academic component, living-learning communities connect students who share similar majors, career plans or personal interests. Each offers faculty engagement and activities related to the group’s goals.

STEP

In your second year in the residence halls, you will have the option of participating in Ohio State's innovative Second-year Transformational Experience Program (STEP). Through interaction with faculty, you’ll deepen your academic pursuits, developing tools for life and building essential network connections.
